Al more i read the more i wonder .. What come First is this so called( What come first the chicken or the egg )

The Gorean or the Klingon

The more i read the more Simulairies i see ?

They are Both Male Domated

Goreans are : a world of honor and savagery, of Castes and slaves, of Warriors and Peasants.

a Kilgon is :A proud, tradition-bound people who value honour, the aggressive Klingon culture has made them a military power to be respected and feared throughout the quadrants

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Goreans are ruled by Priest-Kings,
Kligons are ruled by a high Archy as well
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They Both Have Houses
The Gorean has the same stutcure if you think about it

Kilgon is
Klingon society is hierarchically organized. Status is generally a matter of descent and relations, although it can occasionally be earned or improved through notable battles or victories. Higher classes consist of the Major Houses or family lines, most of whom are quite wealthy and own vast lands guarded by armed forces that are loyal to their house
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They both have Slaves that Resemble each other
http://www.totse.com/en/erotica/erotic_fiction_k/162066.html
like the goreans !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``

both seem seem to be blood thirsty With lust

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If a slave is killed for disobedience and her head is hanging on the wall
a kligon is insubordinate they are rejected from the house or even killed
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

Then they both indure pain for no reason ...

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
and both have different dietary needs then a human does
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

Both seem to say they are ...Pysically fit then a human

```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I wounder who would rule The Gorean or the Kligon if there was a battle supreme
So tell me is a Gorean a Kligon or is a Kligon a Gorean
And if i get this right in my Eyes a ubar is like a Cheif
To my understanding if a cheif .. suppossed to sit back and listen to both sides ... and have diplomacy
not to cuz or stir up trouble ,supossed to council ppl and be a parent figure to set a standard for the ppl
so im wondering who stoled forn who did John Norman steal from Gene Roderbury or the other way around
i so see the humour in this
...
My eyes hurt massively from having read this.
However, I'll ... say ... this: I'm fairly sure the original Star Trek predates Gor (but I could be wrong -- anyone ...?), so assuming one inspired the other -- which I find highly unlikely -- it would appear that Klingons inspired Goreans.
That would be a toss up, I think.
TOS first aired in 1967, which meant conceptualizing, pitching the idea and casting, etc., all began a fair amount of time before that. Tarnsman of Gor was published in 1966 and I do not know how long before being published that the manuscript was actually written.
I don't think they have anything to do with each other. Nor do I care if they did, honestly. :rolleyes:
Both are however, described in the wiki as "a load of old bollox" thus voiding the argument that one predates the other as not very important at all.
though I'll take startrek any day.
Well, they really have nothing to do with each other.
The Klingons were developed to be synonomous to the Russians. During that time, we were locked in a cold war with the former Soviet Union. Star Trek was a political vehicle for Gene Roddenberry - a way for him to talk about events of that time in a science fiction forum that would get past television censors. Back then you weren't really able to talk much about politics, considering it was the McCarthy era.
Also in the original series, not much was developed about the Klingons beyond that they were a warrior race. It wasn't until later, for Star Trek III I believe, that there was a start of racial development, when Linguist Marc Okrand was hired to develop their language and culture.
(Ok, I'm a Star Trek geek, I admit it).
Has nothing to do with this, but I realized this weekend, as my husband watched a marathon of Trekkie goodness, what the main purpose of the tricorder is:
It's to fill plot holes.
Klingons 36
Goreans 7 in the quarter-finals.
Taking advantage of cultural differences in sportswear, the Klingons kept applying the underhanded batliff-to-leather-pouch manuever to their Gorean adversaries over and over again... to bloody, ball-dropping effect.
Klingons aren't exactly male dominated in the way you're suggesting. Women in klingon society can actually have an awful lot of power, albiet mostly behind the scenes. Women, if not exactly equals in all respects, are not slaves in klingon society.
Klingon society is not really caste-based, for one thing. Beyond that, you can find the "nobel savage" archetype in literature and myth dating back a long, long time. It's not new with either Klingons or Goreans.
From: Zephria Zapata
Goreans are ruled by Priest-Kings,
Kligons are ruled by a high Archy as well
The two have no relation. Klingons have a quasi-representative monarchy - ruled by a combination of the current monarch and the ruling council.
Patriarchal houses have existed since civilization began. Human civilization, that is.
I can't stand to continue this debate, honestly.
No theft occoured.
