For any Star Trek fans, or for anyone with a time to kill, there is a new Star Trek project out on the net.

http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/1024/home.php

The premise is a modern version of season 4 of the original series. Same charachters, but new actors. Same sets, uniforms and music as the original series.

This is a not for profit effort funded soley by the creator and donations, but it does have Paramounts support. They get an "A" for effort, but be warned, the cheese factor is in overdrive, and they need to get a few things down better. Nitpickers will have a virtual paradise, and even the most forgiving will cringe at some things.

But nitpicking aside, the shows are entertaining and worth watching. The quality of the episodes seems to be improving greatly too. The next full episode features Walter Koenig, and George Takei is also involved now too.

Its well worth a look.

Okay, the acting sucked, but the story wasn't bad and the sets, costumes, and visual effects were first-rate.

Proof that you don't need 200 million dollars to make a decent show these days. :-)

Yay cheese! That's one of the things I liked about the first series! Gonna have to check this out.
