ok, so i just recently formatted my computer (yesterday) and i re installed everything today. so i get onto SL, and its working fine, for about one minute. then all of a sudden my screen goes crazy. i got a screen shot of it here

Ah, the never ending question. This comes up every day, often more than once a day.
You've got an ATI video card, right? This is extremely common with ATI hardware. Go into your SL graphics preferences, click on the Hardware Options button, and then disable vertex buffer objects. ATI cards are notorious for mishandling VBO's. You should be able to see the preferences window, even though everything else is messed up. But if you can't, reboot your machine. You should then get at least a few seconds of normal display before it freaks out again. _____________________
