Hello all

I was running the RC4 client but ever since the big crash of SL, I am totally lagged out with this client. Older client works just fine.

I am not at my home computer right now so forgive me for lack of details.

My bandwith meteres show upload is in red constantly but not the download.

I have noticed under the advanced menu an item label

something something mini-dump (once again this os from memory sorry)

and it is checked. I am wondering if this could be the culprit.

Thank you

It is simply a crash log data, don't worry about it.

Open up your Task manager and see what other processes are running, including services. Check in the exceptions tab of the Fire wall icon, uncheck everything except SecondLife.exe and SLVoice. If you see an entry 'Bonjour' then you have an exploit that is stealing your connection bandwidth. Uncheck 'Auto updates' in windows, Quicktime, Realplayer (if installed) and Java. Just make sure you check updates manually. Set a scheduled time for your anti virus programme, so that it doesn't conflict when you are using sl. Same with any tune up programmes.

Some anti virus checkers continously scan the SL cache, put those folders (C:/Documents and Settings/<your OS log on name>/Application Data/Secondlife and child directories) into the exclusion list, check them manually.
