Loosing Inventory Items

Is there anyway of backing up item in your inventory? I have heard of people loosing large parts of there items in there inventroy boxes. I find it hard to believe in this day and age that you can't back this up to ur pc. I would like to here from anyone who has any ideas on how this could be done and to Linden Labs you should be giving this some thought aswell.

I lost more than 10.000 items from my inventory, and LL doesn't answer my ticket support

I wish I had the answer to your question. I, too have lost almost all of my inventory including all of my landmarks, note cards, calling cards, empty folders everywhere!!! UGH!!! I'm lost !!!
Is there anyway of getting them back??? I thought maybe, as a last resort, I'd uninstall and then install SL again, with the hope that everything will be back to normal when I got back. Has anyone tried this???

Your inventory, avatar, and practically everything in SL is stored on LL's servers so uninstalling your client will have no effect on any of that. Once you install it again everything will be back to normal except maybe your personal settings. Should you decide to do an uninstall make sure you do a complete search of your computer files for any left over SL files and manually delete them before installing again.........several files remain from the uninstall process and if your problem is one of those files then you'll have the exact same problem after reinstalling.

If nothing else works you should probably submit a support ticket to LL. But, real and permenant inventory lose is acttually very rare. It happens but most of the "inventory" loss is due to borked caches or temperary server issues.

If your inv has not loaded properly,
and it looks like half your inv has disappeared,
do this:

Go to top line menu bar
Click on "Edit"
go to the bottom option "preferences", click on it
The third option down the list is "Network", click on this.

Click on "clear cache"
Click on "apply"
then log off.

Log back into SL and wait patiently for 5-10 mins, and all should load back into inv.

You shouldn't need to uninstall and reinstall the whole viewer.

I lost 2000 items from my invent. it happened when i had two inventory windows open,when i closed one 2000 items went poof.
I put a support ticket in and LL tried a couple of things but in the end they said there is no way of recovering them.
I did the clear cache thing and logging in and standing still in a quiet place but i never ever did get the items back
Needless to say i will never open two invent. windows again
