I realize you're frustrated, Kimberly, but no one was trying to patronize you. Snap-backs like "I'm not an idiot" are not at all helpful.
You must understand, none of us have any way of knowing how much understanding of these things you might or might not have. Plus, when you post a question in a public forum, it won't be just you who reads the answer. Lots of people will read it, with levels of expertise ranging from considerable to none at all. It's therefore absolutely crucial to explain everything in as simple and complete terms as possible. These forums exist for the benefit of everyone, not just you.
If that makes you uncomfortable, I'd ask you to approach the situation from a less self-centered point of view, and consider the bigger picture. We're all one community here. If that's not something you're willing or able to do, then I'd encourage you to seek help elsewhere, as this clearly isn't the right setting for you. I hope it won't come to that.
In any case, so you know, you weren't "kicked out". Your viewer crashed. It happens. Everything I said in my previous post is still relevant, whether you actually clicked to log out or not. The end result was the server didn't know you had left, and it got confused when you tried to log in again while you were "still there".
As for whether or not it was the region's fault, the fact that there were other people walking around in it doesn't mean anything. The sim could well be handling existing agents just fine, while at the same time not properly handling requests for new logins. If other people were logging in and out from the sim with ease, then I'd say we could eliminate the region as a potential cause of the problem, but we've obviously got no way of knowing anything about anyone else's experiences but yours.
Here are a few things I'd suggest:
1. Uninstall SL, reboot, and reinstall. It's possible the crash damaged something in your installation. If that doesn't fix the problem, read on.
2. What network card do you have? How current are its drivers? Are you running wireless or wired? If it's wireless, try plugging in, and see if that solves the problem. If it does, then you know your wireless is the culprit. For information about proper wireless standards and configuration for SL, see
https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=4355 3. Are you running a software firewall? If so, disable it temporarily, and see if you're able to log in and out more easily. If you can, then you know your firewall was simply misconfigured for SL. For more information, see
https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=43554. Now let's talk hardware firewalls. Do you use a router? If so, try bypassing it temporarily. Plug your computer directly into your modem. Can you log in and out now? If so, then you can safely conclude your hardware firewall is not configured properly for SL. For more information, see
https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=43555. What ISP do you use? Do they throttle your traffic after any certain limit? SL uses a very high amount of bandwidth. If you've got a limit in place, your ISP might be cutting you off.
6. What are your full system specs? If a component is unsupported, or underpowered (the listed minimums are actually way too low), SL's behavior could be unpredictable.
