Hey People

CPU: Intel Core 2 Series Processor (2405 MHz) C2D 6600
Memory: 2046 MB @ 800Mhz DDR2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista (Build 6000)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 8800 GTS/PCI/SSE2 (640MB OC) 163.xx drivers.
OpenGL Version: 2.1.1
LLMozLib Version: [LLMediaImplLLMozLib] - 2.01.14299 (Mozilla GRE version 1.8.1.13_0000000000)

Been struggling with pan lag since.. Well forever. Things got abit more stable with the new viewer, but I still have the same problem as ever;

Go somewhere with "alot" of objects (Statistics Bar shows a total of 14k objects..). Loading them all takes .. some time, and it stays lagless for a good 10 mins after that.

Gradually though things turn for the worse; panning my view reduces fps to 0 for a good 5-10 seconds (a full blown freeze), which at times even results in SL going black and non-responcive for as much as 20 secs.

Thinking about it it seems as if every time I pan my view (..turn) my pc loads all the objects, which is what causes the freeze.

Is there no way to make SL load all the objects at once? Or... Well ANYTHING at all? This is really ruining my SL day(s).

Appriciate any help and suggestions.

PS: using 163.xx drivers (169.25 was HORRIBLE)

/Mando

Edit: It happens at 8k objects as well... I'm getting really annoyed.

Restarting SL helps, but after about 10-20 mins the lag returns....

Give these a try, havnt had the shiney bug with it so far and you have somewhat similar setup i run .

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_174.74.html

The pan/rotate freeze is major pain for me to, usually when client tries to start particles it can come to a freeze up, not so frequent now tho, but still one of the pains i can find on these newer clients.

Avoided the 164.xx to 169.xx as they where utter garbage in SL.

The only moment I really lag is when I turn (or extreme particles. But I have turned those down quite a bit.)

Will the 174 in any way fix the rotate freeze? :)

Anyways, I'll try it tomorrow!
