Stolen Account Info or Hacked Account

My sl partner's account was either hacked or the account (payment) information was somehow stolen. (No one has been given his password or account info) His account was suspended when someone tried to buy linden with the credit card info. He has gotten his account back by paying off the outstanding fee left from -someone- purchasing linden, the purchases are listed in the transaction history. My question is what do we do now? How do we file a complaint so that LL will try and figure out what happened, because neither of us know. He has changed his PS & deleted all payment info on SL.com in hopes of it not happening again - but we both want to know who and what caused this to begin with. I hope someone out there knows & can help me try and sort this out.

If he's _SURE_ that nobody could have seen or guessed his password, now would be a most excellent time to make sure his virus software is up to date. That and that he's not running any bots that he's not sure are honest.

Dunno how to square things with LL - a support ticket would probably be the best place to start. If he's concierge/premium, a live chat might be a good option first, just to ask their opinion on what his best course of action would be..

he was suspended because someone used his CC # on their account? or on his?

and if it was his how was there a balance owed? "outstanding fee left from -someone- purchasing linden" that makes no sense. you buy it its yours .

there would be a transfer in transactions if someone bought it on theirs and sent it to their avatar.

are you partners in RL to? did you somehow ask where some $ went and he blamed it on a hack? just read/heard where a guy tried saying that when some $ was missing and was actually buying escorts on line.

or was this due to trying to buy L$ on some off site laundering place?

why would he be suspended for buying L$ ????

I use my CC on 4 different accounts. I don't get suspended

if it was some odd account hack. either someone logged in from his PC and he has the password set to auto log in, or he has a keyloger.. better do a real good scan.

if you think its LL call Billing and start an investigation. (I had to do that when I couldn't figure out where a $5 charge each month came from as I forgot I had put my CC on my SL partners account for her tier for the group land.)

adding again because you say there is transactions but how was there balance due? and that should show the person it went to. your partner will have to call Billing and file an ar etc as well as a support ticket.

a suspension that normally happens when an expired card and tier, or a declined card. not with Linden$ purchase, because they don't give you Linden$ till they have your USD not the other way around.
