Never gets to the SL log in password screen just stops at sending crash log

I connect using Wifi which worked perfectly well 2 years till now. I was using it on my window sill before but now i have it on my lap i keep the AC on ice cold.
I cannot get to the sl screen log in page i just click the sl icon, get loading sl, then crash log send report? then nothing it freezes. The sl icon is on the bottom and says SL is already running when i try it again but doesnt show up in the task master so i have to restart my laptop to close out the program. i never get to the sl log in password window.
I'm using a Gateway pentium 4 model 7330gz 70GB with 600MB left the sound audio device doesnt work i was using voice and had headphones with mike last time i was there.

The specs you listed are not giving us much except that you are running a P4 processor with 3 gigs speed. What is your graphics card? Your operating system? How much system RAM? How do you connect to SL? You say it's a laptop.......are you using your laptop on a hard flat surface or on your lap or a cushion?

You say you cannot get on SL. Does it crash when you try or does it just give some errror message when you hit "connect"? Does it even get you to your login screen?

1) install service pack 3, why not, its all the windows security updates, theres only 1 sp3 just in different languages

2) intel graphics are a crap shoot at best, the 82852/82855 are not even on the system requirements list, in fact it is on the "dont even bother" list, so if it even worked before you were lucky, anyway drivers are here try re-installing them

3) you only have 512mb of ram, which is bare minimum for SL

on top of that your "graphics" chip is leeching 32mb, which drops you under the minimum memory requirements

to top it off it doesnt say anymore, but i could have sworn that SL requires 64mb of video ram

What version of SL are you using?

Can you clear up some space on the hard drive?

What is the speed of the processor again? 7330gz doesn't seem right.

Can you try to connect using a wired connection?

Have you done an uninstall and reinstall of SL?

Yes, the SL version might be nice to know too. And a 70 gig hard drive with only 640 megs free is a pretty highly loaded hard drive.......when was the last time you defragmented it? I beileve the processor speed is 3 gigs......a P4.

Maggie, you got major problems in three areas. !. System RAM. 2. Video card (it's onboard with only 32 megs). 3. You're using WiFi. Maybe if you can correct the system RAM and your wireless it will be enough to get you working again......until SL finally out runs you completely and you'll need a better computer.
