My FPS drops constantly, the highest i get is about 15, if i am lucky, but most of the times its below 5, i have this laptop just a few weeks, worked great before, i installed new drivers for my card already, turned on fast alpha, run multiple threads, dunno what more i can do, i hope there is someone with a solution for this...:$

SL is very demanding on hardware. Check the temperature of your processor with a free program called Core Temp, search Google. When I had hardware probs with SL my processor temperature was about 97 degrees Celsius. Now it normally is 45, with SL running it's about 65. There also is a freebie to measure graphics card temperature for Nvidia cards, but I don't recall the name of that proggie anymore. Anyone else?

85 celius is pretty hot. Are you trying to run SL while that laptop in actually sitting on your lap? Or do you have it sitting on something soft like a pillow or blank or even the cushion of your couch? Almost all the ventilation for a lap top is on the bottom of it. You could be blocking the ventilation openings.

You might look at cool pads for laptops to help with the ventilation. Laptops are known to be problematic about heat inside the case. If you think about you can understand why......there is just much jammed into too small an area. Air has a hard time circulatiing.

Make sure that you are using the computer on a flat, hard surface. Kitchen table is fine, as long as there's no table cloth.

If you still see those temperatures, do not open the viewer until we get to the bottom of this, otherwise you may cause permanent damage to your hardware.

Well that could be your problem, although nothing's sure. But your drops in framerate pointed at high temperatures, as I have experienced the hard way. Processors and graphic cards shut down or go to half speed when they get too hot. Try Robot's suggestion and see if temps drop a bit. Btw, I don't think SL will cause too much damage because I almost got up to 100 degrees and my processor is still fine. My problem was a bad cooler fan, which I had replaced.
