Not really weirdness but couldn't think of another word for it, anyway, heres what happens.
I'm trying to flatten a part of my land, right now its a big ditch and isn't level witht he rest of the property, the only trouble is the ditch wont raise any higher or flatten to the level of the rest of the property, it will go lower and flatten DOWN to ITS level, but wont flatten up to the other level, the ditch is deep enough that theres water.
Whats going on here? Am I missing something? I tried using an object to raise it, that didn't work either, the land just wont seem to budge any higher. There is another property right next to it, but I don't see how that would make any difference as I've edited my other land that is next to other properties without any problems.

Unfortunately, sometimes land is just weird. It helps sometimes to use the land adjoining when trying to raise weird land edits, but, if its not public it might not be possible. You might just build over it to hide the flaw. Hope it works out.

You need to attend one of my Land Editing classes The way you flatten land is by starting the flatten tool at the height you wish the plot to be. If you have a hole and you start flattening at the bottom, you will expand the hole. To cover the hole, start flattening at the top and drag it around. The flatten tool sort of memorizes the height when you click it, tries to bring everything else to that height while you are holding the button down, and forgets it when you let go. So dont let go until youre finished Also there is a 45 degree limit on land editing, meaning, you cant raise land if the resulting slope would be more than 45 degrees. Lowering can yield more slopiness but its impossible to make land perfectly vertical.

And if the land adjoining yours is lower than where you want your land to be, then when you raise yours, you will be left with a slope at the edge. The bigger the difference, the bigger the slope.
I can understand why the limit on slope was added to the level and raise tools, but not the lower tool: The Lindens would prefer that we don't make ugly, spiky mountains, but don't care if we dig holes... Holes don't clutter the skyline.
Still, while there are ways to make most of the land formations you want by buying extra land temporarily, building up then carving down, or using scripted diggers... It would be nice to have more control so it isn't so HARD to do it all.

I've tried all of that, I think the reason its not working is either the land just doesn't want to work, or for the slope reason eggy gave.
Thanks for the help and suggestions, for now I guess i'll just have to live with it *Grumble*.
