Hello, I have startup problems with my SL-client. I installed it properly and when I click the icon on my desktop I see a window with a loading message for a very short time (maybe 1/10 sec). My windows taskmanager shows a SL-process for this short time too. After that I read the system requirements again and couldn't find any mistake on my site. My system mets the recommended system. What can I do to run my SL-client? Greetings Teydin

Following the solution given by the support team: The latest update cannot handle it if the "path" (C:\Documents and Settings\<user name> contains special signs, like å, ä, ö, ü, ñ etc. If you create another admin account on your computer, and install Second Life from this account, it should work fine. Or at least, you should find these log files. It works!

I have a problem starting up as well. It says "Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer."
I've e-mailed Linden Labs, but I think it's out of support hours. I just wanted to know if any of you guys know what the problem is...
Thanks,

Just discovered the game today and installed it. Waited for a little peace & quiet before I started it and now... whenever I click the icon to start it goes through the bar and then crashed to the Crah Log box. I've messed with it for a while now and about to just get rid of it. Kinda sad to since this game sounds like exactly what I've been searching for.

I got this e-mail just before...
"We have carefully reviewed your Customer Care Support request and have escalated it to a senior Care representative who specializes in resolving issues related to your specific request. The representative will respond to you as soon as possible."
Has anyone else had this problem?

Has anyone else had this problem? Sounds like your internet ip block was banned, or some other ban on access for either you or just coincidently another user on the same isp.

I'm not to sure about being banned...I don't remember ever getting banned...so I'll just wait for the reply. Thanks for the help guys.
Could it have something to do with AOL? On some other sites my IP was banned because they banned someone on AOL and AOL gives proxy IP's or something like that...

I hear that calling them can often result in faster response especially in the event that you are hitting an IP block. Good luck.

Well I'm on the run a lot nowadays, so I don't have a lot of time. They're just taking a while to reply to my e-mail.
Anyone e-mail them and get a reply? Just so I have an idea of how long I should wait...

They e-mailed me back almost instantly last night... Now it's been over 7 hours...about a day after I was told I would be e-mailed by a senior analyst ASAP. Hm...

I don't believe it is an IP ban. I was able to log in fine on my second comp. The one I am posting this on is unable to get past the loading banner without the "crash" notice popping up. I then receive errors when trying to send the crash report. even answering no to sending the information did not load the game.

Welcome Loc They just upgraded yesterday and are still working out some unexpected bugs. Hang in there. Also check the Support page and make sure all your drivers are up to date. Welcome to SL

I called them yesterday and they told me I would have to fax them my birth certificate. I did it about 2pm yesterday and they've still not unbanned my computer. This sucks lol...
