I am having a problem with my non-prim clothes (jackets, pants etc). For example, when I attach certain pants, the texture does not stop at my ankle but covers my foot too. This also happens with shoe bases that should only change the shape of my foot, but some turn my legs black or white. The worst problem is with a top that should be a jacket but when I put it on it covers my entire body. It happens with some items but not others, and it only started happening a couple weeks ago. Does anyone have an idea what it might be? Thank you for reading!

I stole this answer from a post that fixed the same problem:
If you're using an Nvidia graphics card with drivers later than 175.19, disable palletized textures. CTRL-ALT-F7 does that (in the official viewer). Then rebake textures (CTRL-ALT-R). Take the shoe base off and put it back on if that doesn't help.
this works, the only problem I have is that I have to do this each time I login. So that is really annoying. I discovered that the latest Release doesnt have this problem. So I am using that one now. cheers

The ctrl+alt+F7 solution works great, thank you, I was beginning to wonder if i hadn't picked up a perma-glitch. One thing you mention having the latest viewer, which i thought i had..am i missing something here?

I dont think so Daphne, I use the Second Life Release candidate, thats the "latest' viewer, but still in testing fase.

From: Herbie Whitman I doesnt happen on a Mac, I never had this problem when I still had my Ati card, so I think its Nvidia. It's actually caused by the nvidia drivers. They recently removed an old feature not many programs used and it created these problems. The reason the RC client does not have this issue is because palletized textures has been removed from it.

Did you try to take off clothes and then wear again after the the advanced menu trick ? I use the release candidate, works great.

I play on a Mac with an nvidia GPU, and I am on the latest RC... and I've had this happen twice... a simple rebake fixed it the first time.. and 3 rebakes fixed it the second time... so I dunno....
