Alright, so i have read many threads on this same problem. i try to start up second life but it crashes and a message pops up reading: "Second life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported.

I have download the latest video card driver several times. I restart my computer, open second life and the message still pops up.
The card i have:
Mobile IntelĀ® 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family

Help?

(yea, its a laptop)

You'll be crashing with that vid card, its not supported.

*Intel 945 chipset minimum,
tho i wouldnt recommend any Intel vid cards.

Yeah there is somewhere. I don't know off hand where you could pick it up........it will be third party so if you find it run it at your own risk.

And, for the record, SL DOES NOT require a top end computer to play successfully. But a 6 year old un-updated system with 512 PC2600 RAM matched with a Celeron 900 meg CPU and onboard graphics with no video RAM is not going to work. Neither are the 200 USD laptops everyone seems to think is the answer to "a computer in everyone's home".

Go out shop around. Look at computers in the 600 USD range with 2 gigs of DDR RAM.. Get one that can have a stand alone graphics card installed. Check around for a good nVidia card......you should be able to pick one up for under 100 USD. There.............you got a system that will run SL with a new LCD monitor for less than 700 USD. Stay away from laptops.

Check online. I have an nVidia GF 8600GT with 256 video RAM...........I paid $129 for it a year and a half ago. I would say could find one for something like $80 or less. The price range for video cards is huge. I'm looking at one now that runs a little over $200........and it's not top of the line either.

The 8600 is an excellent card by the way.
