Major Issues Please Help

Recently I had to reformat due to virus infected my computer.

I updated all the drivers and got into second life, but sense the format, my computer locks up and crashes constantly the game of second life only. When I look into my task manager and check my cpu usage it maxs out to 100 percent with second life which it did not do before. I also attached the lag meter in second life and my network goes to red and says over 600ms ping and the client goes red.

i have set all the graphics to the lowest setting and that did not help, i called my cable company and its not my network. i have no problems running anything else or any other internet games i play.

i am at a loss what to do. i uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and it did not change anything.

this really sucks being i can not get in to manage the club i own.

any help is greatly apprecited.

yes, i did ... i went to the ati link off of second lifes page and downloaded and installed.

ATI driver version above 7.4 does this .... nothing you can do Lindens tells you to go reconfigure your network even if the driver for the ATI graphic card is the only difference between a working and non working client.

if you can please file a ticket so they start to react a bit. i have been doing this since a year but seems i am alone.

I'm assuming you are running Windows.. download and install .NET Framework version 2 or above (XP), or version 3 or 3.5 for Vista. .NET Framework is the OS environment runtime libraries for OpenGL platforms such as SL. XP ships with version 1.1 and is whoefully out of date.

If Vista, install the new SP1, it has many updates that make SL more stable (if that were possible).

EDIT: Oh.. and never believe your connection supplier, get good testing software and use it.
