I have a new HP HDX 16. This laptop has Intel 2 Duo Processor 2.26 GHz, 4.0 MB RAM, and an 1G NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M. When I installed and used second life for the first time on this laptop, it said I do not have the mimimum requirement. How is that possible??? I even went to canyourunit.com and it said I more than passed the minimum and recommended requirements. What gives???

It doesn't recognize the graphics adapter. As long as you can start SL, it's not a huge deal, tell it not to show you the message again then go to the graphics preferences and set them yourself.

Short version:
Go to the shortcut you use to launch Second Life. Right-click and select "properties" In the field called "target", insert the option you want to add. After "C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" would be a good place. Like this: "C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" --noprobe --set InstallLanguage en (from https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-391 ![]() Long version: Info on viewer parameters is located at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Client_parameters You might want to submit a JIRA report at https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa asking LL to add new video cards to the list of supported hardware. The System Requirements page looks like it is well out of date, as it does not cover the current Nvidia cards. |

You might have to get the lastest driver for the video card. On my system it ran fine on Vista, when I upgraded to Windows 7 the new driver didnt' work and I have to find the old Vista driver to get it to work.
