I've got a strange problem after a system crash. I've got multiple Lost And Found folders (2) and multiple Texture folders (58 folders) and I can't delete them because they are system folders. The problem it is a bit boring because all those folders are useless. How can I delete them ?

Thank you.

Love Second Life!

I would like to show a pic of the problem but I don't oknow how to post a pic. So if you are interested, IM me.

My guess is that after the crash there is now a discrepancy between your locally cached inventory list, and the updated list the server is trying to send you. So your viewer is showing you both versions at once.

Try this. Close the viewer, and then manually delete all files and subfolders from your SL cache folder. Restart the viewer, log in, and with any luck, things should be back to normal. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe someone else will have another suggestion.

Note, if you don't know where your cache folder is, go to your SL preferences, and click on the Network tab. Look where it says "Disk Cache Location".

Hi Clematide! This happens every once in a while, particularly when the asset server is a little unstable, as it has been lately. Chosen is right, the first thing to try is deleting your local cache. Oddly, sometimes the first rebuild doesn't clear it up - try it 3 times if it doesn't work the first time.

If that doesn't work, the Linden support people are able to clear it up. File a support ticket at https://secure-web33.secondlife.com/my/support/?lang=en

If you are a Premium account (as opposed to Basic, that is 'free', account), you can get quicker support via inworld Live Chat.

/me nods. This has happened to a bunch of people in the past and LL has some tools that they run at the back end to fix it up.

If a cache nuke doesn't make the problem go away, contact LL.

Hi guys, I already tryied to clear cache, I also reinstalled the whole OS (of course not for that problem, I just bought Windows 7 so i installed a clean system) and the problem is still there. I'm not a Premium account so I don't know if the LL support works for me. I will try. Thank you for your help, you're very kind.

See you inworld.

Ciao.

You can submit the ticket, no telling when they'll get to it. Use the "Special Questions..." ticket type, and then choose the "There was an item in my inventory window..." type. Describe the duplicate folders you have, and tell them that a mentor told you that LL Support has a tool that can fix this problem (in case the ticket ends up being handled by a noob support person).

Good luck!
:)
