I have been inviting people to come to SL, especially Uru refugees. Now I hope I get an answer as this person is quite talented!

His problem:
"Its when I connect. The game downloaded and installed without any problem. When I click on the SL icon I get a logon screen where I put in my avatar name and password. Then I get a screen where it loads stuff then displays a screen entitled "Item of Security Agreement." I let it run for 30 minutes tonight and it never did anything although the modem showed continuous activity for the full 30 minutes. I sent an inquiry to the SL tech support but no answer yet."

I really want an answer. I've posted before and sometimes don't get the help I need. I really want the tech support for this guy! He's awesome. I have pulled in two people in just a few days. We want Dni to grow in Teledor. Thanks to all who help us out! Hugs to you too!!

;) :(

It's most likely a driver issue. SL will complain if it detects older drivers. Upgrading video and chipset drivers, as well as DirectX and BIOS should help.

Also, what kind of internet connection does he have? The license agreement is notorious for not loading when a person's connection to the internet is dial-up.

Hey, im new also. I just DL-ed second life yesterday and the agreement thing refuses to load.

So i guess people with dial-up cannot join? or is their another way around it?

Sorry, no dial-up allowed. It's not that we don't want you, it's just that it won't work. :(

Only possible to do that if you've already accepted the terms of service on a broadband connection.

If you can log in from a broadband connection and accept the licence agreement, it may work on dialup, but SL can transfer hundreds of megs of data in a single (several hours-long) session. Don't expect to move around much if you're on dialup.
