Ok to celebrate my return to SL last night I gave myself a new outfit.
My old outfit didn't include a jacket, but I decided I wanted one now, so I clicked the jacket tab and then "create new" -- suddenly I disappeared. I went ahead and chose a texture and modified all the lengths and such. When I saved, I reappeared and I was wearing everything I should be wearing.
It was just a bit disconcerting =)

I'd be curious to see if you can duplicate that.

One good point is if you notice somethin strange happening, like becoming invis or what have you, try to duplicate the error. If ya kin dupe it, please report it!
More info is a gid thing.

I had that issue too, I think I posted on it. I told Doug Linden about it, actually I was chatting with him wile it happened to me.
I went to another sim and my jacket appeard as it should be after crossing the sim line.
