Going shopping for a new graphics card today. So what's the current party line... Nvidia or ATI? Thanks! :-)

The longstanding most commonly expressed opinion is that in general nVidia works better with SL.

I've been seeing lots of problems with both for newish cards with newish drivers.

Sometimes the problem with newish cards and drivers can be fixed with an older driver than the current one.

nVidia for its handling of openGL, but be prepared to find old drivers, turn off vbo & palettized textures, or try the release candidate viewer as even nVidia cards are experiencing an unprecedented amount of problems at the moment.
