Has anyone else noticed increased ping times since the fiasco move this past week?
I seem to be running into aperiodic ping times that exceed 5000msecs. Today, while in Cordova, I suddenly hit a 20,500msec ping time! Now.. that's not lag, that's ping.
This never happened before the move - the greatest ping time for me prior to the move was 2500msec or so.
Obviously, with pings like that, nothing I can adjust on my end will make much difference as keystrokes simply get lost in the ether between my computer and San Francisco.

Is it limited to you, or is everyone in the region affected? It could indicate a problem with the sim. IM a Linden and ask about it. If there's a problem with the sim, rebooting it usually helps.
If it's just limited to you, it's possible there IS something you can do on your end. If you have a wireless network, it could be a problem related to that.
More likely, however, is that one ISP or another just has some problems. I'm not sure what to recommend under those circumstances.

Catherine,
I have no clue as to whether others are affected or not. I mentioned it a couple times to others and got no direct responses though a couple referred to similar lag-like delays.
My connection is not wireless at any point that I know of.
And I haven't changed a single piece of network-related hardware or software since the move.
I am guessing that the move across San Fran somehow has caused the "normal" routing from SL servers to me to change or get changed more often... and that is the cause.
So, since 99.99999% of Slers don't even know what traceroutes are, much less how to follow them, I was asking whether anyone else had experienced similar symptoms. Few answers would actually definitvely tell anything, but if a number of people reported similar experiences, then that might support my theory of what the hell is causing me to see what I am seeing.
And like I said, it's aperiodic, and as far as I can tell, not specific sim-related at all.
