ok so my system is a dual core (im only running a 32bit system therefore only using one core)

A geforce x300 se graphics card
1gb of ram

Everytime im in my fav club or DJing at a club Everything frezes and starts to lag. Upon looking at my task manager my cpu is running maxed out and SL is taking 150k mem.

So my question is would SL run better if my PC had a 64 bit system on and used both cores or would it make little difference?

Wait..what? I wasn't aware that my 32-bit Windows OS was only capable of running one of the 4 cores that it shows being used.

I'd recommend trying more RAM before springing for a new OS, really, especially since my machine is living (Well, kinda) proof that a 32-bit machine can run multiple cores. 1 gig of RAM isn't that much any more, and more can't hurt, if your system can take it. Also, what is your CPU's clock speed?

Also, realize that if you're in a packed club, it's going to lag quite a bit regardless of your system. That much data being processed in real-time is just too much to run smoothly on anything but the fastest machines all-around.

To get your clock speed (Assuming a Windows machine, anyhow), right click a 'My Computer' icon (Either on the desktop or elsewhere) and choose 'Properties'. The bottom of the resulting window has a 'Computer' section, which tells you your processor, RAM, and any other important information. The #.## GHz number is what I'm looking for... for instance, in this screenshot:

My clock speed (CPU speed) is 1.90 GHz.

Being in a crowded club and lagged has more to do with the servers serving all those textures, scripts, chat, streaming music, etc etc to all those avatars that are there. Your system itself will lag, of course, but most to the lag is generated because the servers are huffing and buffing to get all that data out to all the viewers requesting it. The highest end computer ever built for consumers will lag too...........but your system should able to keep up with what the viewer can see. That won't help one bit if the servers can't maintain the delivery though. And that is basically what happens in a crowded invironment in SL. Most of the lag is servers not being able to keep up.

LL has made great strides in making the lag less........but they are not there yet. The internet, itself, contributes too.
