Just checkint that my experience and understanding is right on this.

Teleporting to a sim. (or for that matter, perhaps a location on the sim you are already on)

You can't teleport to a Z location can you?

Or perhaps you only can if you are the owner or are offered a TP from someone already there.

But, in saying that. I can TP to some places that are in the sky, but not others.

So, can anyone (who's into the tech of this) explain wht sometimes a Teleport that involves a height "Z" location works and sometimes it will not.

Is it something to do with the setting of the landmark for that parcel?

Some places I set a high TP location, and when TP'ing back I find myself not at the correct height, but rather a lower down location, if not actually on the ground itself.

And thinkng back, a few months ago I set a TP location on a parcel I was renting, and when I TP'd to this landmark on my parcel I often appeared a few 100 metres up in the air, desipte the fact the landmark was something like 20 or 30m heigh (Z value)

Basically I guess I'm saying, some places the Z value seems to be correclty taken into account when you appear after a Teleport, othertimes it seems totally wrong.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Check the Options tab of the About Land dialog (click the name of the parcel in the SL window menu bar to get the About Land dialog). Check where the Teleport Routing is set. If it's set to Landing Point, your TP will be re-directed. If it's set to Anywhere you should be able to TP anywhere in the parcel.

Will take a look later, thanks.

Does this affect the land owner also, or just visitors who teleport within/to your parcel?

There does seem to be some weird behaviour with the Z value though.
Almost like it does not always "kick in" as it were.

Some time ago my friend had a skyhouse and if you set a landmark on the skyhouse and tried to TP in from another sim, you would TP to the ground beneath it.
However, once you were on the ground beneath it (within the parcel) and you called the exact same TP then you would jump up to the correct position.

So, there must be some difference between TP'ing within the parcel you are in, and TP'ing in from another parcel/sim.
