Well, on the bright side, the knowledge base is packed full of articles that are a year and a half out of date, so it's unlikely that you'd find much of value there anyway.
Basically, to stream music on your land, stand on it, click on the parcel title at the top of your screen, and enter in the stream URL. (It's at the bottom on the second tab, I think?) To find a stream, go to shoutcast.com. You can also learn how to set up your own station there. _____________________

I've just been trying to work out how to do this, and was having a bit of a problem in finding the correct URL to put into the "Music URL" box in Second Life. Right-clicking on the "Tune In" link on the Shoutcast page, then selecting "Copy Shortcut" did not give the correct URL for pasting into SL.
The way I did it was to left-click on the Shoutcast link, which brought up Winamp and started playing the stream. I then clicked on "File > View file info" and copied the URL at the top of the box. Pasting this into the "About Land" dialogue in SL did work. For example, the right-click URL for Otto's Baroque Musick is: http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=3202&file=filename.pls <-- DOESN'T WORK The URL given by Winamp is: http://64.62.252.135:6082 <-- DOES WORK Is there a way of finding the stream URL without opening up Winamp? |

Is there a way of finding the stream URL without opening up Winamp? Not if you're faced with a .pls or .m3u playlist. Neither are supported by SL. _____________________

What I ended up doing, since I don't use winamp, it when Mozilla asks what to do with a stream link I tell it to save to a .txt file. Then I open that file in notepad and copy the http://whatever.... to the clipboard and paste in to SL's music options. It works

There are two articles about streaming music in the SLUniverse Knowledge Base, with detailed instructions on streaming music and finding stations for use:
