"Unable to complete attatchment."

So, I'm fooling around with my avatar, trying different things on, when, suddenly, I can't put whole sets of clothes on at one time. Well, used the "replace outfit" option, so I worked from there (trying to put the previous outfit on again) to individually assigning clothing and accessories to where they're supposed to go. If I select the "wear" option, it says "Cannot complete attachment. An attachment is pending for that spot." Any idea on how to fix this?

When that happens, communications between the sim, inventory, assets are stuffed up.

The first thing to do is stop trying to put on the new attachment for the moment =)

Next, move to a different sim, preferably one that is not busy. If the problem is gridwide (unusual but it happens), this may not help much and you may have to simply wait it out.

Then, see if the old attachment is still worn, if so, remove it and wait until you see in inventory or the edit menu that it really went away.

Last, try again to attach the new stuff. If things are yucky out there, it can help to attach one item at a time.

No need to feel dumb! We learn how to fix these things the hard way, by trial and error until something that works turns up. So I just got to be stupid before you did =)
