When I go to the log in screen, all my button like login and cancel and file and all that are in weird colorful blocks. And when I log in, all my buttons in the hud at the bottom are in colorful blocks and as well as my character. Pictures: http://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot001qo0.png

I'm having the same exact problem and add in that any and all LL default textures for buttons, water land etc look like multi-colored lines, it's totaly unuseable at this stage.

Check for video driver updates. See who makes your video card. Help > About Second Life will tell you the make and model. Go to the manufacturers website, and download the latest driver.

you basically have a jpg compression error caused by a transmission error or storage error. if it is in your image cache it may stay there for a while.
clear cache. use other cache folder on other partition fix hard drive.
