Missing Inventory Folder, With Odd Items in Lost and Found

Yesterday I noticed my Lost and Found had items in it. Odd, since I'd only been building on my own land (correct group, of course). Opened L&F and found about ten different shades of =RaC=Loveaffair hair. Hmm, odd...hair I had not worn for at least a month. And what are they doing in Lost and Found anyway?

I went to my Clothing folder and looked for my Hair Collection folder, stuffed with some 300+ purchased and freebie hair. Gah! My Hair Collection folder was gone. I quickly searched for various designers--Cake, Analog Dog, Kin, Calico, SkyShop, Calla, Maitreya, 0 Style, etc.--nothing. I checked the Trash folder...empty. Also, I noticed that my inventory total count was down by over 300 items.

I cleared cache and relogged, waited for inventory to load. Still light by over 300 items, still missing my Hair Collection folder, but now in Lost and Found, instead of ten or so =RaC=Loveaffair hairs, there was only one: =RaC=Loveaffair - Ashblonde. I've left it there, I'm afraid to touch it, the sole survivor of my huge designer collection of hair.

Today I've cleared cache, relogged, and checked again...same status. I've filed a ticket, along with snapshots from the beta grid of what was once in my humongous Hair Collection.

Running Second Life 1.19.1 (4) on my spanking brand new Dell Inspiron 1720 with GeForce 8600M GT (latest driver, too), 4 GB memory.

Any ideas about how to recover the lost folder?

Hehe, talk about odd coincidence, I spent yesterday arranging wisps of hair under a cloak hood and pondering whether customers would like that or not, whether I should provide a selection of blonde, brunette, and auburn wisps, etc. I don't usually fool with designing hair, so it's bizarre that the one day I do, my whole designer-hair collection goes poof!

Maybe there's something to cyber demons after all...

the hood with the hair looks awsome, deffinatly would look cool for an elf ranger type character in RP places

just my opinion :)

Thanks, and I suppose I'll have to learn more about hair design. No response to my ticket thus far. I suspect the items are gone for good. Since I save my transaction history, I think I'll gather up the records and see if the designers, with proof that I purchased their products, might be kind enough to replace them. At least, the ones that were mod/copy.

Or maybe I'll start a new trend with completely bald avatars...

Gah, sorry to hear about the 18,000 item loss!

No response yet from my ticket about the lost items. I added snaps from beta showing the Hair Collection folder and its subfolders.

The lone RaC hair in my Lost and Found gives the "missing from database" message when I try to wear it.

Now another ugly problem--not sure I can lay this at the feet of the Lindens though--has reared its head: the occasional "display driver has stopped responding" preceded by SL crash has escalated to occurring every couple minutes. New laptop, latest driver. Reducing draw distance and other graphics changes doesn't seem to help thus far.

*sighs*

I lost almost everything in my inventory as well. 4 years worth of things I had kept as keepsakes and mementos of friends now gone due to Lindens Incompetence. I submitted a ticket but I doubt if I will have any luck. I did notice all of my folders and sub folders are still there, just nothing in them. The only folders that managed to retain items were the folders that had a gesture in them. Guess that means we should all make copies of gestures and put them in folders so LL doesn't lose our items when they do asset server restarts.

I received an email from Linden Lab re my ticket advising me:
We have solved your issue.

Which made my heart leap with joy...then plummeted when I found that my stuff is still missing.
Under the "We have solved your issue" sentence was a huge cut-and-paste from the knowledge base covering how to reopen a ticket, how to clear cache, "object missing from database" solutions, perceived inventory loss, how to reset inventory filters, and on and on.

I read this before, of course, during my frantic search for recovery, and had already tried those solutions more than once.

I reopened the ticket, though I suppose that once the database is borked, there is no recovery. Now if there were just a way to transfer my Hair Collection folder from the beta grid...

At least I'm only out some 300 items. I can't imagine loosing 18,000.

Some people recommended doing things like making copies, if possible, and storing duplicates in a box both in your inventory and on your land. I hadn't heard of the gestures link--jeesh, sorry you lost so much stuff, very sad.

Lost a 1000 items earlier in the year then,..

When the lastest patch came out I lost 10,000 items, still waiting for a reply from the first ticket, sometimes I ask myself why do we all play this game??
Would appreciate any news if anyone is lucky enough to get it.

Sorry for your losses

I, literally, have no clue how many items I just lost. I cannot get into my inventory to ascertain the damage. I lost some last night for good so I do not know how many of what I just lost are permanently gone.

I am having so many glitches that it is, literally, impossible to function. This has been getting progressively worse for about a week now.

I have not paid for my account and would pay for a month in order to file a support ticket but is it worth it? I am not hearing that they are good at responding and I am not hearing that people are having their items returned.
