I have a big problem. Today at noon, I was in a sandbox editing a DJ booth. When I draw not appeared, SL went slow, then it returned to the inventory. Now when I want to put it on the ground, I get this message: "Unable to create requested object. Object is missing from database." I hope you can help me recover my table of 3000 L$. The name of this object is "Mesa DJ (no copy) (no modify)". The sandbox i stayed are: "The Sandbox on Heron Island": (http://slurl.com/secondlife/heronisland/194/212/22). I have the DJ booth in my inventory but every time I get on the floor appears the message. Thanks. I need your help. I wait your response. I reset game and clear cache and this moment it desapear of my inventory.

Hi Josef, welcome to the forums!
The error you're getting is not good news. It means that SL's database has misplaced your item (it is not still in the sandbox). There is nothing you could have done to prevent this - it is just bad luck during a time when SL's servers were not in good shape. In general, do not work with nocopy items when SL seems to be behaving badly, or when you see there is packet loss in the sim you're in. If you go to the Support page on this website and search the Knowledge Base for "Lost Inventory", you will see what LL recommends you do to recover your lost things. I see you've already cleared your cache, but try it a few more times. Believe it or not, sometimes things come back on the 5th or 6th cache rebuild. If that doesn't work, try deleting all the SL data on your computer. You will have to reset your preferences afterwards. In XP the folder is (delete the whole thing): C:\Documents and Settings\<your userid>\Application Data\SecondLife In Vista the folder is: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife In Mac OS, Second Life stores its cache files in the following location: (your Home folder)/Library/Application Support/SecondLife -> Cache Even though it's lost, leave the item entry in your inventory. Sometimes things return after a period of time, mysteriously. Good luck! . |

If it is No Mod you cannot edit it on rez, you can only select 'Take' from the Pie menu or 'Delete' or move its position in the edit menu. |

Joy of asset,
Sadly you cant get uuid to report these missing objects either due to no modify perm, so youre pretty much up to creator mercy to get it replaced, any transfer object rarly get replaced unless creator is being nice, but i would have my doubt if the object wanished from asset or it was given away since there would be no way to knowing there. Sure you can bug report it, but without a uuid they are pretty much shooting blind in asset to find that object to "live" again in your inventory, oh its in there, just not right place. Had it happen to me to ,loose a transfer object, after that i avoid them like plague, since its pretty hard to get a new one from creator. I would just advice never to get a transferable item (goes for everything clothes, prims, textures, anims are much harder to get copy on if you buy em) always make sure it has "copy", to keep copies around incase SL suddenly make it wanish, but missing from database usually affect all the same one with same uuid ~.~ so bleh, still havnt had that happen to me tho as if one break i copy the old again and it works. |

I to woke up today and found items missing. nothing big but nevertheless gone. Interesting read. fortunatley the important things to me like custom body parts were still there. what disappeared were 700l worth of boots purchased just this weekend.
Its not a lot of money, but it shouldnt happen. |
