I have a nice sized home and I often build there. Yesterday I was building and several times tried deleting mistakes. They wouldn't delete until I tried a second time. Now here's the strange part. The now deleted prims.... are not there.... BUT ARE THERE! I walk into them as if they were still there but cant see or click anything. Even when I try turning on invisible items they are no where to be found. This MUST be a glitch because I simply cant get rid of them and they are counting against my lands prims.... which is extremely low now as a result.
Thoughts?

They are ghosted and you'll need a region restart to clear them.

Ghost prims, fairly common unfortunately. A sim restart will kill them off.

Such an annoyance, yes need to reboot the sim. If it's not yours you may have a problem. You can submit a ticket to the Lindens. Luckily they do a rolling restart quite often and it should just go away in a week.

if its estate, you could contact the sim owner and ask if they'd submit a sim restart ticket, if its mainland, then the rolling restart would be the way like they said above

Phew.. I thought I was going slowly mad.. I'm tripping over things that just aren't there in my build too and it's more than a little frustrating. Thank you
