SL won't play videos

I've just recently begun using Second Life. While in the Help Island, I tried to play some videos. I installed Quicktime, enabled video streaming in SL, and restarted SL, but when I try to play a video, the video display area turns dark and nothing else happens.

I've checked, and I can play .mov files in Quicktime when I'm outside of SL.

Any suggestions?

It's all pretty much like it has to be as you described it. The fault hasn't to be on your side..it can also be a faulty setup video stream, lag or some other problems. Those Help Islands are notorious

Have you checked if you can play videos at some other spots in SL ?

I'm having the same problem as well. All I see is a black screen but every now and then I see a Quicktime logo pop up. It was working just fine last week but now nothing will play for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime at least 4 or 5 times now with no change. Is there something else going on? All my settings are correct for viewing video in world so not sure what it could be. I would hope that if it was Quicktime it would have resolved itself after the first time I reinstalled it. Any thoughts?

I suggest you search the SL support center ( https://support.secondlife.com ) if you can find any posted solution.
If not,..well,then it's time for another wonderful and shiny ..ha, guess what...trouble ticket ! Yayyy

Go here https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/ticketnewclassic.asp and submit a new trouble ticket. Describe your problem there. An official support staff member oughta care.
