Hi, I'm having an awful problem w/linking. A lot of times when I go to try and link things, they will rotate (since ctrl brings up the rotate function and I have to press ctrl/L to link). Sometimes when I unlink what I did the pieces will return to normal, but not always. One example is when I unlinked my cabin to modify it and then later tried linking it back together, it got so messed up that I just had to delete it and start over from a copy. Is anybody else having problems w/rotation of pieces when you are linking? Thanks!

I believe what your experiencing is a known bug. You can try using the tool menu at the top of the screen and link without having to hold the shift or ctrl keys.

I went to the Tool menu at the top and the only option I have is to unlink my object, even though it's already unlinked! Is that a bug too that there's no option of linking other than ctrl/L? Thanks!

I've had linked objects of only two prims change their rotation relative to each other while I was rotating the object well after linking. The child tends to flip 180 degrees around one axis. The new lower degree imcrement code tends to show values ranging between 0 and 360 vs. -180 to 180 in the old daze. I'd guess there's a bounds checking problem somewhere in the link rendering code that corresponds with this 180 degree shift.
I've also had a child object of one type (cylinder) change into the same type as its parent (tetrahedron) while moving the object around.
Snap to grid seems to be broken too. Take two blocks and use snap to grid to line them up with the grid an place them next to each other. Then rotate one of the cubes 90 degrees. Turn on 'local axis' and move the rotated cube around, it will not line up any more. Sometimes turning off local axis will allow you to line them up again, sometimes it will only reduce the amount of error.
Also, I've seen a value of -1.#J show up in the Y rotation field when rotating objects with local axis turned on. An imaginary angle? lol
I didn't see issues that sounded precisely like these in the recent posts so I thought I'd throw them out there.
