Again, SL is inaccessible. Despite the status page saying it's up and running. I get a dialog saying somethign about unable to connect to SL, Despite our best efforts, yada yayda yada. And again it happens on European Prime time, with NO way to contact Linden Labs.
Last week, SL was totally f*cked up for 4 hours before anyone at Linden noticed. Then it took 2 hours to get it fixed. I (and many others) noted the problem in about 5 mintes, but there was no way to tell anyone at Linden, as they were all sleeping.
Are our money less worth than the Americans ? I pay more than US$300 monthly, and expect better service.
Do I get a refund for the time it's not available ?? HAHAHAHAHHAHA! what a joke.

Er.
It's a small US company based in San Francisco.
Last I checked, they didn't officially support non-US accounts.
So.....
?

Well this is the first game where ANYTHING is possible. And ANYTHING can be created and all stuffed on just one server.
Wivh is fine but i doubt the server will be able to carry all this stuff for an other 5 years without lagging like hell because of an overloaded server.
Also i'm an european player that lives in a sucky country with upstream and downstream limit . So i'm forced to play less SL because loading all the player crafted scripts and objects makes my downstream rise like hell.
Just got off smallband today...and hope i won't be banned to smallband again this week.
Had to buy an extra volume block to get me off smallband. 20Mb upstream left....lets hope my upstream and downstream refreshes soon or i'll be on smallband again this week.

Lordfly,
<<Last I checked, they didn't officially support non-US accounts.>>
You must have checked a long time ago. Once sl left beta I left sl because now it was paying it would be possible to tell where you came from.
I didn't join again until the ToS was changed to allow non-US and Canadian people to join once more on the same basis as existing residents.

SL is one "world", but every sim is actually on its own server. Right now, they're commodity P4s, though of course, they could be upgraded to faster and multiple CPUs. When you move from one sim to another, you can see the current address in Help > About Second Life. As you can see, it changes as you move into a new region. The only really centralized part is for things like the login server, asset database, websites, etc., and they're handled on groups of servers as well. This design is extremely scalable, so in 5 years, assuming growth could be sustained, I would expect to see thousands of sims performing better than the current ones.

Sigh !
Now SL is down AGAIN on European prime time. As if I was not stressed enough with getting my island ready until Sunday.
Furthermore, on the Wednesday crash, I lost 3 items I just bought. Just a few hundred bucks, but still.
Better check your inventories carefully !

Check the announcements. There was a scheduled downtime for a server update.
LL has to do updates when there are statistically the fewest people logged in. It's unfortunate that it happens to be in your prime time, but that's just life.

Is it just me or am I now an addict... I'm in a state of "cold turkey" just waiting for the system to come back up.. Few additional updates to the status page wouldn't go amiss though....
