Hey, sorry if this has been posted already. Earlier tonight Second Life crashed on me and when I went to reopen it I couldn't. Whenever I try, it gets as far as saying "initializing texture cache" before it closes and windows says "Second Life has stopped working". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My friend is having the same problem and has been since this summer. The only viewer he can use is Cool. He's down the uninstall and reinstall, delete everything, update drivers... still nothing.. Any tips?? Thanks!

Here's what I just totally figured out that helped me.
I'm a vista user:

C:\Users\USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\user_settings

There is a file called settings.*somethingiforgot*
Replace it with settings.ini.old
It helped me... I found it on another site for a completely different reason and it worked.

Nevermind. What you suggest worked. He added that to settings file name and now it works. Thanks for the tip!!!

Not for everybody, that directory is empty on my computer, and I'm having the same problems.

This problem happened to a bunch of people in 2006. It's just a bad update.

We just play the waiting game.
