Can only see part of the world

Not sure if anyone can help..but tonight I could only see part of the world. It was all on the large map but big whole squres missing from the minimap. When i was teleported into one of these blank areas the game froze up on me


It just started tonight since I joined up as a premium member. Whilst on trial it was fine. I have a DEll 8300 with an ATI9800 video card with 25gmb ram.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

well 24hrs have passed and still no solution. I have asked second life for help as well. Still have whole areas of the world missing. my previous posting should have said 128mb video ram. I have tested my internet connection and it is more than adequate. I dont want to go back to Sims...but guess I will have to at this rate....

Uninstall and reinstall SL.

LOL - Yes, get used to that idea for the foreseeable future. Since joining SL in late April, I've had to re-install approx. four times.

One note - If you store any of your own files/objects in the Program Files/Second Life folder hierarchy, you'll want to move them to an un-related folder. Part of the re-install process deletes most existing files in the directory structure.

Thanks for your help. However I have just reinstalled fort the 3rd time in 3 days and Magenta and many other complete world squares do not exist. Magenta is just a blue squre on the minimap..but exists on the full map. When I go there it is just like blue water.

Howvere nothing I seen to do helps. Sims like magenta are still out of bounds for me as I cannot see them. And yes I have logged 3 bug reports now and have heard nothing from SL.

Try calling them on the (800) number. It's 1-800-860-6990.
