I just want to advise any of you who currently own the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO video adapter and encountering problems- the LATEST CATALYST DRIVER 8.8 crashes SL!!!
It was driving me crazy for a while I tried and tried to figure out why I kept getting display driver error messages and wondered if there was a problem with my video card... but it turns out that it's the 8.8 driver that crashes SL. I went to the ATI website (www.amd.com) and looked for the previous drivers for the video card and downloaded a driver that was released in April 2008 (that's around the time I bought the video card) and SL is now working just fine!
