Is there a way to turn off the tooltips?

Is there a way to turn off the tooltips - those idle mouse pointer messages. They always get in the way and I can't see what I'm doing. Sometimes they get stuck during lag and touching somewhere else with the pointer won't make them go away.

menubar -> 'view' -> 'show hover tips', i do believe... or may be a submenu now of 'hover tips'. can't remember, outside right now...

I turned off the hover tips as you said and it didn't work. The hover tips are still showing.

Depends on what you are referring to on the tool tips. If you are talking about the tooltips on the viewer buttons, IE: communicate, then this is what I do.

1st, you need to make sure you have an advanced menu, if you don't see it at the top, you need to hit ctrl-alt-d, and it will pop up

2nd, go to the advanced menu, and click the "debug settings" option

3rd, type in the box "tooltipdelay" and click on the "value" box. Type in how many seconds you hover over a button for the tool tip to pop up...i think i typed in something like 9999 or something like that.

So unless you hover over a button for 9999 seconds, the tooltip should not pop up.

When I tried disabling hover tips all it disabled was the pop up you get when you mouse over something like a prim or prim sign board that displays the owner, etc.......and sometimes the price of the item if I'm shopping. I re-enabled it.
