Why are doors messed up now?

Sorry if this has already been discussed in one of the many "borked" discussions, but I didn't see it.
Ever since all this 503 business started, I've also noticed that doors don't swing open anymore. You click them, there is a big long lag, and then sometime later they just appear open. It's extremely confusing, especially to visitors and explorers, because the door just seems locked. I know this sounds crazy, but I'm certain I'm losing business over this because people think they can't get into my properties.
Sliding doors are okay.
Does anyone know what the deal is? BTW, these are Paskis doors, and the setting "smooth open" (or whatever it's called) is still set to "on."

Doors are death to businesses or shops. I never know whether I'm allowed in or not, so I most often just avoid the place altogether. Is there a way that you can edit the doors and reset the scripts? Or, for the time being, take them back into your inventory and leave just a passageway?

I use those scripts on my doors (and windows) and just built a home a few days ago. Everything's working fine for me, try resetting the scripts and see if that helps.

These are apartments and homes, so they really need to have doors on them. I could perhaps leave the available units' doors open.
On top of this being bad for business, it is annoying the hell out of me. Resetting the scripts, and also rezzing new doors doesn't do anything. It's on mainland and estate regions: all the same problem.
Does anyone notice this problem on a non-Paskis door? If not, maybe Paskis has an update or something.

I know they made a change to the amount of information that can be stored in name and description fields that has messed up one of the open source door scripts that uses these storing position and rotation, although I can't answer for the door script you're using. From: someone There have always been limits on the length of the “Name” and “Description” fields on objects. The name field is limited to 63 characters, and the description field is limited to 127 characters.
With the new 1.19.0 server, these limits are enforced when the fields are set using the llSetObjectDesc() and llSetObjectName() LSL functions. http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/02/01/scripters-object-name-and-description-changes/

But just to be clear, you can see your doors actually swing open? They don't just suddenly appear as open without any motion? EDIT: Mine are version 4.2.0. Is that what you meant, Arcane?

I didn't realize that Avion's doors were to apartments/rooms, which of course makes a big difference, in that renters would want them to open/close correctly.

I have a sign over the front door of my house, ( my house has a name like one of those Newport estates) so folks know they are free to wander around and explore the grounds. EDIT: Mine are version 4.2.0. Is that what you meant, Arcane? You're right, I thought you ment they wern't opening. I also notice a long delay now. Was working before, very wierd.

So I'm glad to know I'm not crazy, but now I'm bummed that perhaps doors are just going to be crappy from now on. I'm hoping that Paskis can adjust the script somehow to compensate for whatever is causing this, and I'm also hoping that it's going to be possible to implement the fix for some 200 custom doors without re-creating them.

It was still happening when I first logged in at 6 pm. It was really embarrassing because Paskis had started diagnosing the problem, and trying to find any possible way to fix it when it just went away on its own. I'm glad Paskis is a pleasant and understanding businessman! Are yours working now, Arcane?

Same Thread, different update

I revived this old thread because I'm now having nearly every sliding door in my SL universe stop working. They go phantom, but don't move.
Very annoyingly, it's not 100% reproducible, because a few of them still work. But it seems to be the ones in my higher-lag areas that are misbehaving.
Has anyone else had a problem with this and found a way to fix them? (I've reset the scripts of course). I'll get with Paskis again if no one else knows a solution

My door traps me inside my home

I have a home where the doors sense your proximity and open to let you in. Well....up until the 1.19.4 update. Now, if I am inside, I can't get out of it. I have to tp outside. My upstairs has a sliding door that I can get into and out of. I have to go up to that door if I want inside.
I did not build this house, so I don't own the script. I cannot reset it. Guess I'll have to IM the creator to see if there's a "fix". It's just odd that it affects only the swinging doors. Could it be because they are linked together on an invisible prim?

This also fixed the problem with rotating objects, and certain animals that stopped moving. Re-rezzing got everything going again. There's apparently a problem with things not de-selecting properly, which is affecting any of a number of things: "Assigning this to Kelly Linden, who was working on it Friday and will hopefully finish it soon. The current theory is that this is caused by a "selection bit leak" -- objects are getting selected but not unselected. The best way to verify this is probably to pay attention to the "selected objects count" in the parcel object tallies. Well, I downloaded the most recent update, and thank God there was one...so to speak. The last update ate my house up, and my furnishings were just sitting there, come in mid-air. Now I have my house back, but I still can't go through that stupid swinging door, and I don't have any sound....again.
Yes, I checked my preferences. No, I can't re-rez the doors, as they are linked to the house and I got the house from the freebie store as a noob. I don't have any edit rights. *Sigh*. Is there anything I can do? I'm really beginning to get bummed out about my experience ever since 1.19....whatever.
