I'm a total noob, so this might be something I'm just doing wrong, but... I just signed up for Second Life, and every time I try to teleport somewhere, it logs me out. Is this a common issue?

It's not really a common issue but it does happen to some people. There are times when the grid, in general, has teleporting issues.........but right now I don't think that's the case. I was just in world a bit ago and for a couple hours I was able to tp anywhere I wanted without any delays or problems.

Your computer specs, type of connection (how fast), the viewer you are using, your graphics capabilities (card/chipset), the operating system of your computer, and your preferrence settings in the software would go a long way toward someone being able to suggest anything that might help you. Right now there's little for anyone to even guess at.

I have an AMD Athalon II x4 620 processor, running Windows 7, GeForce 8100 graphics card. I didn't change any of the preference settings, so they are default ones. I have a cable modem that runs at 100 Mbps.
