Currently land changes color based on elevation.

It would be nice to set land to look like basic land types. Example types: Desert sand; snowy; swampy; rich grassland; yellowy fields; mud; or dry, cracked land.

Opening it to any texture would likely be a nightmare, so either provide a click box on the land menu for basic types, or otherwise limit the textures people can put onto land.

Some people have resorted to tiling areas with cubes to emulate things like golfing fairways/greens or swamps.... Perhaps this woud be a better way to customize your basic land look.

Bonus points: Allow the land type to be changed with a library call. Then people could have the land change according to 'seasons' and what not :)

Also, after you add the weather system, you can possibly have the land type take on modifications relevant to which weather type is going on or has occured recently. :) :) So you might find puddles in your grassland after a rain, or your yellowy field might become green after a rain :)

Obviously, on the sims where policies can be set by residents there would be a a set of options for people to vote on, regarding allowed land types, etc :) :)

Oo, These are some very good ideas! I hope that when we get snow, the snow will accumlate on the ground. Maybe the snow could even slow down how fast you can walk and stuff. Right now, there is 2 feet of snow outside my house, so, I cant exactly leave, and that is something I would love to see in Second Life :)
