I cannot use llEmail to send to a Gmail account. I can send just fine to other accounts, but Gmail never gets anything llEmail sends.
I also set up an email account on DreamHost to redirect messages to Gmail and keep a local copy. Regular email sent to this account apeared at both places, but llEmail-created messages made it to DreamHost, but never graced my Gmail inbox.
So there is something about the llEmail message format that Gmail doesn't like. I don't know if there is something LL can do about it or if Gmail has to fix the problem.
It's just very anoying right now.
Anyone want some Gmail invites?

I have been successfully using llEmail to send to gmail ever since I got an account a couple months ago. I think the first message went into the spam folder, but once i marked a single message as "not spam", they all come right into the inbox.

My spam folder was empty, believe me I looked. But, it seems some time last night, I started getting llEmail messages in Gmail jsut fine. The older ones seem to have vanished, however. I don't know what caused it to start working again, but there it is. Cory, if it was you, thank you!

I'm sorry but I dont experience what you've described. I have 2-3 scripts that send nightly emails to my gmail account and they all go through unless LL is having trouble with the email server.

Something that I've noticed is that gmail occasionally appears to have problems with their inbound SMTP server, and mail to some addresses at gmail.com appear to get stuck in the queue for longer than you would expect.
Their mail queue + our current mail queue system == long long waits for llEmail -> gmail accounts sometimes. This will soon be addressed on Linden Lab's side; hopefully that will help gmail out a bit also.

Despite the fact that it's working now, I'm SURE the problem was all on Gmail's side.
1) IM->Email messages went to Gmail just fine, no sigificant delay. 2) llEmail messages sent to a 3rd party email address arived within 30 seconds 3) The same 3rd party account was set to also redirect messages to Gmail, those did NOT arrive. 4) But llEmail messages that arrived at the 3rd party and that were forwarded to Gmail arrived immediately.
This leads me to believe that Gmail was dropping messages that originated from the llEmail script function. I sent a support question to Google Mail about this when I first discovered the problem, and included the header from an llEmail message as it was received by the 3rd party.
If other people were getting llEmail messages in their Gmail accounts just fine prior to my problems, then that only leaves an account or server-specific problem in Gmail's system that they have fixed as a result of my bug report to them, or that fixed itself.
The messages that Gmail did not receive STILL have not arrived, though all current messages are arriving within 30 seconds or so. As more than 3 days have passed since the missing messages were sent (and 3 days is the standard "I give up" point for most email systems) they are most likely forever lost (no problem to me, they were just tests) with no explanation.

Just my bad luck to start using Gmail with llEmail when there were problems...
