You must first burn a $100 bill to prove your allegiance to Mac owners.

Hey!
Welcome. Go to the "Find" button and search for "SLMUG."
You should then, probably, contact Bino Arbuckle to get in.

Yes, apparently the Macintosh Users group is free to join. I didn't see the "Join Now" button because I was already a member (dumb).
I'm considering whether we really need the SLMUG around. I started it so people wouldn't badger the Lindens to join their snazzy group, but, since they opened it up...

I think SLMUG has the potential to be useful... For example is a member is having RL difficulties w/ their Mac instead of posting to a message board and waiting for a reply, they could IM the group and see if anyone in the group knows a solution. Of course this varies depending on the number of people online, and their level of Mac experience.... But you never know! It could help!

Useful for awareness of multi-platform

I wore the SLMUG group at a couple of classes, and the instructors were always interested in knowing what is Different on Macintosh. I know it is mean, but I like asking "what does right-click mean"?

Heh, I missed the right-click when I started using my Powerbook. But then I realized that ctrl-click does that. Now I'm set with my touchpad Although, if I really need it, just plug in a USB mouse Of course, right-click in SL is command-click, so, yeah... they broke that rule/guideline.

The interface guidelines are all kinds of broken in the Mac SL client, but some of that is due to so many help documents referring to control and alt for the PC. They want to keep all that as close as possible on the Mac.
My biggest beef is that, while control-c and command-c copy, control-w closes a game window (like n open script) while control-w quits the game with NO "are you sure" message! That has GOT to go!
