The other Night I uploaded close to 30 textures.. not all in one shot.. 5 here 3 here 10 here.. so forth.. but all in the same time frame (with in 20 mins) Made some really cool outfits with them and had the outfits saved.. all the uploads came in and were complete and in my textures folder.. I was stuck in away mode so I decided to relog.. when I came back on ( immediatly) all textures were gone ( cept like 3) and money was gone as well.. has anyone else experienced this sort of thing yet?

I've had a few different times when the game seems to take my money and give nothing in return....(most of the time I end up finding a sword somewhere i never was heheheh....thanks orrey 8)....other times there were other bugs like my wings getting paid hehe....best thing to do would be to try to figure out what happened and see if you can repeat it so that the bug can be fixed....

during that 20 min did you crash or have a lot of lag or anything out of the ordinary? (I find strange things happen when the lag starts up....Just a thought)

Actually I was running fairly good.. The only thing I can think that caused it (and I will try it tonight) is that I reloged before av was saved maybe.. so tonight I will bulk in 5 then relog and come back and see if thats it..But it was a good 15 to 20 mins after the last upload before I loged out and back in..so that makes up to 40 mins since the first one.. but will try things tonight and see what happens..

a question i have....if you don't log out manually....(ie crash)...I noticed that the last picture is from the last time you logged out manually...does your character only save when you log out manually? are there intervals of saving instead? how big are the intervals? (ok so that's more than one question)...

One bad day I ran around meeting people...(including Jennifer Linden...she probly remembers what i'm talking about.) ...got a bunch of calling cards from different people....then the sim i was in just shut off it seemed and i crashed....a couple days later I found that she was not on my calling card list....so added again....this probably has to do with the saving interval..

We ran into the same problem, except with items we had created. We crashed hard, and then relogged, and all the stuff we had done in the last 15-20 minutes was gone, as well as the money it took to create them. Personally, although i cannot prove it one way or another, i think the server crashed, and then reset it to a point where it was stable...

We had some serious backend database (where things like your avatar appearance and inventory are stored) problems last week. We think that we have addressed the majority of these problems, but if you continue to see lost items please post to this thread.

WRT some of the nuts and bolts: whenever you make changes to your inventory (such as uploading textures or sounds, changing your avatar appearance, or attaching something to your avatar) we store off your data, so we generally recover from viewer and simulator crashes with minimal loss of data. It has been our highest priority from day 1 to protect data if at all possible. Simulators save their data on a regular basis and when they shut down or crash. One condition where small amounts of data can be lost is when an object is introduced to the simiulator that constantly crashes it and prevents a successful restart of the sim. In this case, the Linden in the world responsible for keeping the grid up and running will roll back the simulator one backup to get it back up and running.

The screen shots you see are generated on shutdown but not on crashes, so yes, you should expect to see the incorrect screen shot after a crash.

Other symptoms of the backend problems we were having were failed log in attempts, teleport not working correctly, and ratings not sticking.

Thank you for reporting this kind of problem!

Happy New Year's!
