Hi,

After getting the initivation last night, I downloaded the beta 0.3.2 but to my frustration, everytime I tried to get in. It just freezes and got this Error message like "Runtime Error: newview.exe," something like that.

After going to the preferences - I unchecked everything such as AGP, Shadows, so on. I managed to get in but yet, it's SLOW and LAGGY.

It wasn't smooth like There beta & TSO.

Could it be the video card? Shld I tweak it somehow? I have 933 mhz, Intel P3, 256MB RAM, Nvidia GeForce2 Ultra & Cable Modem.

well your barely getting by with those specs to be honest (in my opinion)
sounds to me like you really need a better video card and more system memory .....
those are the 2 cheapest things to fix anyways .....
but Not sure what all ya tried to do , if you just logged on and stayed basically where you where generated into the world that could be part of it too...
the " welcome area" is one of the most lagged places in SL....
So if you just stayed there messing with your appearance then perhaps try again tonight and move away from that area and see if your performance improves ...

this game is cutting edge technology so a system that is basically outdated is going to have alot of problems in the perfomance based areas of this program.... sorry your havin a bad time ...

ya your comp is a bit close to min specs... hells it is MINspecs only 133mhz faster... might wanna try one of the less traveled servers... usually better

Ahh, thanks guys. Yeah, I was doing the apperance thing last night and that caused it to be too slow and laggy. I did thought that my comptuer specs are way too close.... but it's still satisifying enough to play the beta game, isn't it? Arghh.. gotta upgrade the compy! I'm so BROKE right now.

I'll have to ask my bf to do it, since he made this computer system for me. I'm still learning, though!

Where's these less travelled servers? Guess I gotta play around more and pick up. I only played for a hour last night but gave up due to its slowness!
