I had trouble finding this computer online but did find an Amazon.com listing for it. These the specifications listed for the HP Pavilion model you listed:
.......................................................................................................

Product Features and Technical Details
Product Features
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0 GHz
GeForce 6150 LE chipset; Socket 939 motherboard
250GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive
1GB PC-3200 184-pin DDR SDRAM; expandable to 4GB
Up to 16x DVD+/-R/RW and +/-R DL LightScribe drive
Processor, Memory, and Motherboard

Hardware Platform: PC
Processor: 2.0 GHz AMD Athlon
Number of Processors: 1
RAM: 1000 MB
RAM Type: DDR SDRAM
Hard Drive

Size: 250 GB
Type: Serial ATA
..............................................................................................

Assuming this is your computer I think you problem might be the graphics card that is in it. NVidia cards with the "LE" suffix are budget cards and not very powerful at all. It seems that during your absence, SL has possibly outgrown your card with all the new stuff that has been added to the platform recently.

You can try updating your graphics drivers.....it might solve your problem for a while. But, sooner or later that card will reach it's limits and not be usable for SL.......or, at the very best, barely usable.

And the 1 gig of RAM is a little low too.......if you could get another gig it would help at least as much as a driver update.

Ok thanks for the info. That is probably what it is then because I updated everything last night even the graphics card and it is still doing it. Thanks for letting me know.

Do you think the nvidia geforce mx4000 would be outdated too?
