All day, all I see is a white ball of light. I can't change appearance or put on clothes. Says it is waiting for clothes to download...

i cant see my self and my inventory isnt loaded, in the old client, the avatar looks small and cant dress, why is that?

I'd start by clearing your cache and turning your computer, modem, router, etc. off for a while. Completely off, so they have no electricity going to them, not just resetting or restarting.
Completely un-installing SL, and deleting some of the files SL uses that aren't removed by un-installation, and then reinstalling SL, might help.
Information about your computer systems is useful in solving problems.
What version of SL?
What operating system? What service pack?
What kind of processor? How fast?
What brand and model number of computer?
What kind of internet service?
What brand and model of router?
What brand and model of modem?
How much RAM?
What brand and model of video card?
How much video RAM?
What version of video driver?
