I saw this person once and now I cannot see him anymore. This other person can see them but I cannot. I am new, so I don't have a clue what is going on.

it sounds like a ghosted avatar cheryl, i'v had this happen alot where i can see a non responsive avatar but no one else can. it's nothing to worry about and usually the avatar will disapear when the operator returns inworld. if the av is there for a while send a message to them, sometimes the avatar needs to re-enter a sim for it's ghost to disapear. failing that a server re-start will fix it.

Either he's not fully rezzed (which might indicate a technical problem on your end, his end, or SL's back-end), or you are using the latest viewer and have accidentally muted the person in question. Go to 'Edit > Mute List' to make sure he's not on the list.

Those are avatars that have not yet rezzed. Some bots never rez, but everyone else should, eventually. If they never do I have no clue why. I have a different problem...
I'm having a lot of problems lately (as of about the 1.20 viewer) where I can't find avatars at all until I'm right on top of them. I see someone on the minimap and cam over and hunt all over the place and don't see anything. I have to go to them before I can see them. Once I do that they may or may not appear as clouds, but they eventually rez. |

I did go find the current software for my video card and I could actually see the person again, but it sounds like it isn't only my problem. |
