Hi,
I recently bought myself a new, supposed to be kickass, PC. Here's some of the specs:
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83Ghz 2x6MB Mainboard MSI P45 Neo F RAM 8192MB (2x 4096MB DDRII Twinx 800Mhz) Videocard Sapphire HD4870x2
Now I find myself playing with an FPS of 15, most detail turned off... and that's when standing still. I'm in gor.. so I do have an occasional fight.. and in mouseview it's just slideshow time.
I got the latest catalyst drivers installed.. Running windows 64 bit.. fresh install. Windows is completely updated.
Anyone have an idea why I'm getting this low FPS? Thanksie!

Hi,
I recently built a new PC. Here's some of the specs:
Network connection: 100Mbit (60Mbit when tested)
Processor: AMD Phenom 9950 2.6GHZ SKT AM2+ 4MB 125W PIB Black EDITION Mainboard: ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe S-AM2+ AMD790FX, AMD SB750 ATX RAM: Corsair Dominator 4096M DDR2 XMS2-8500, Airflow Videocard: Force3D - ATI HD4870X2 - 2GB Power: Corsair Power Supply 750W TX OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP1 English fresh install
Low frame rate, lagging sometime standing still, objects update wery slow, only few avatars updated other staying grey. Slow rezice of sl window.
I got the latest catalyst drivers installed.. and hotfix Vista Performance Information, Base Score: 5.9 Other games (Steam) running fine... If I'm uncheck VBO under Hardware Setting it seems to go a little better.
Anyone have an idea! Thanks

secondlife doesnt support SLI'd modes. Most likely, secondlife is currently running your graphics card with 1 gpu core instead of 2 gpu cores.
Do a google search about it.

it is more than just sl not supporting sli'd configurations. sl isnt based on D3D as is what ATI vid cards are or directx......sl is basically OGL or openglideand nvidia cards run better as that is the platform they run....SL could very easily contact Nvidia for them to release a modded driver or one optimized( driver profile ) for sli and sl's codeing, but they havent done so to my knowledge.
unfortunatly, your awsume 4870x2 will not run any better on sl, the 8800 GTS G90 series or 8800GT (G92) and GTX 512 cards run much better than the ati 4870 cards.of course the 9800 series and 260 - 280 series do much better as well due to them being the newest releases with higher memory on the cards..hate to tell ya that ...... but ,you can still run nvidia cards on a ati based system, and dont expect any dazziling performance though, sl just doesnt run fast......
