ok i am having trouble with sl when i log in the game crashes before i log all he way in is there a way to fix this cuz its kind of annoying

What are your system specs? Without knowing what you've got under the hood, it's impossible to narrow down what the problem might be, from the thousands of potential causes.

I'm guessing you're using the most recent ATI drivers, right? At the time, there's no fix. Until SL decides to fix their program to work with OpenGL correctly, crashes are a constant. All we can do is keep sending in those crash reports until they wake up and do something about it.
Hope it'll be soon. I haven't been able to stay on for more than 5 minutes for about 2 months now. |

From what I understand, it's ATI that refuses to impliment OpenGL correctly, not SL. ATI has long been notorious for ignoring established OpenGL standards in their drivers and architecture. There's ATI's way, and there's the rest of the world. This is why SL works so much better with Nvidia cards than with ATI cards (palletized texture bug notwithstanding). Nvidia makes it easy on developers by following standards themselves. ATI does not. Same problem here, specs all up to standard. "Up to standard" doesn't mean anything. There are many known bugs and quirks that are specific to a certain piece of hardware or a certain driver, etc. No one here can help you until and unless you list exactly what you've got. _____________________

A few usual suspects:
Clear your cache. Edit > Preferences > Network If that fails, delete the cache folder (preferences will tell you where it is). Pick a different start location. Edit > Preferences > General _____________________
