 Ok,
been here for over a year and you guys have yet to document your damn UI.

What does "Copy asset ID" mean?
How about "Select inclusive"
How can you save debug settings?
How can you customise the keysettings and UI settings that are available (keysettings.ini?)

Max Particle count?
Doppler effect?

And many more...
I would expect this from a two bit $1.00 a month game but not this.

I have been patient about this. and was told a long time ago that you guys were working on it.

Even heard a rumor you guys have no idea because you hire out the programming to some third world country.

What gives?

Copy asset UUID gets an object's key. If you dont know what a key is, well, the wiki is your friend: http://www.badgeometry.com/wiki/key
Select inclusive? Never seen that. Where is that?
Max particle count is, well, the maximum number of particles you can display at any given time. Particles are 2D effects generated from scripts.
Doppler effect... picture a truck honking its horn, coming at you... when it passes you, the sounds changes. This is the Doppler effect. You have it in SL, isnt it amazing?

thanks for the info eggy.
I am more upset at the lack of linden support/docs than anything.

It doesn't look like you are really seeking specific answers, but that is about all I have right now so here ya go.

'Select inclusive' - When drag selecting (using the yellow selection box in edit mode), only selects things that are fully inside the selection square. When this is disabled you will select any object that is even partially within the selection square.

You can not save debug settings at this time.

For key settings: in someplace like C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings is keys.ini. This file has some very basic editing information in it.

Max Particle Count is the maximum number of particles that will be rendered on your screen at a time. A higher number means you may see more particles, but you will have worse performance in particle heavy areas.

Doppler effect is a change in pitch when moving towards or away from something that is making a sound. For example it is why a train whistle sounds different when the train is comming towards you than after it passes you. You can adjust the strength of this effect with this setting in your preferences.

So that's what that frigging thing does.

It's near the top of the Tools menu, BTW, Eggy.

SL is pretty badly documented in general. I think it's a result of the ultrafast growth speed and scope of the project. (That's where the bugs come from too.) =P

Woohoo, the secret is revealed!

There you go folks, whenever we feel that slightly faster progress is called for, let's just send in a few more crates of the finest coffee! :)

Thanks for the info.
My topic wasnt really just for those things. it was more for documentation of the game.
But I did find that info helpfull.
that dang inclusive thingy was driving me crazy.

I agree with Clint. Only about half the ingame functions are documented well. Atleast twice a week I show somebody how to highlight transparency or make the sun rise.

Oh that debug mode is so neat.
But I only understand half of it.
As long as I can force a sunset when I am building, I am happy. hehe.
