My 'puter suddenly wont log into SL. It wont get past the "verifying protocol version" which would make me think that it was not getting an internet connection, but I am posting this message on the same 'puter.
SL works on my laptop in the same location.
The 'puter in question has been running SL for months, even today--then it just suddenly stopped logging in.
I uninstalled and reinstalled SL and reset my Cable modem.
I am at a loss.
Anyone?
Thanks,
Ethereal

Fixed I guess.
I highly recommed the little program called RegCleaner.
It is freeware.
Search for it on google and you will find it immediately.
I figured some crap-ware was running an internet conflict on a port on my machine or something something.
Used RegCleaner to view all the crap-ware on my system. There were several programs (gator and such) running--most likely from Kazaa.
Anyway--these insidious programs do not appear in your add/remove programs screen. You need a third party software like RegCleaner to easily view and remove them.

I did this--and SL works.
